1. Tell me a bit about yourself. (a quick history/bio, where are you from?, what's your backstory?, how did you get to BFP?, etc.)
I have always lived in the NE corridor between Stratford Ct., and Worton, Md. I love the urban Brooklyn & Philadelphia, the rural flat lands and water of the Delmarva Peninsula. Ive devoted my years to art, music, family, building trades, fishing and vegetable gardens. I wound up at BFP after a couple years of bouncing around assorted studios in E. Williamsburg, thanks to one of my studio mates Leslie Tucker.
2. Can you describe your work? What do you do? What's your process?
My work is dystopic America, standard gender roles/ pop culture distorted since the 1950’s and the plight of the natural world. These constructions are primarily painted bas-relief, using metal studs, plywood and fabric for the armature which is almost always covered in canvas and painted with acrylic, monofilament plays a large role as well.
3. What artists do you think about most / what artists are you looking at?
4. What advice would you give to other artists?
Stick to your guns, grin and bear it; if you don’t like it, lump it. Good luck
